Cordier Auctions held their Summer Antique and Fine Art Auction August 15 and 16 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Highlights of the sale included a 1932 Ford Hot Rod Kit Car ($13,500), a Paul Jouvé bronze of “Le Cynocéphale” ($9,500), and a George Washington bust after William Rush from the collection of Dr. Irwin Richman ($16,000).

Cordier Auctions Accepts Harrisburg Magazine's Simply the Best Award

Cordier Auctions and Appraisals is the proud recipient of the Harrisburg Magazine's2015 Simply the Best award in the Auctioneer category. The award was accepted at the Simply the Best Gala at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg on August 27. Harrisburg Magazine's annual Simply the Best contest polls readers to determine the area's favorite businesses in dozens of categories. This is the second year in a row that Cordier Auctions and Appraisals was named Simply the Best Auctioneer. Cordier Summer Antique and Fine Art Auction to Feature Collection of Dr. Irwin Richman

Cordier’s August 15 and 16 auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania will feature the diverse collection of Dr. Irwin Richman, Penn State University American Studies professor emeritus. The collection includes a large majolica collection, a 16th century British oak coffer and a George Washington bust after William Rush. “We are honored that Dr. Richman contacted our company to sell his collection,” notes Cordier’s owner, David Cordier, “We are very excited to host this auction.”

Firearms, including an early 19th century European made percussion rifle and a James Reid Pocket Model 2 revolver drew attention from buyers both in the room and online at Cordier Auctions’ Spring 2015 Firearms and Militaria Auction.  More than 250 lots of antique, collectible, and modern hand and long guns including the collection of George Hartsock of Jonestown were offered on March 29 at the company’s auction house at 1500 Paxton Street, Harrisburg.  Prices quoted are hammer prices.
